IBADAN, OYO , Sharafadeen Alli, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, has received his Independent National Electoral Commission nomination form and announced Adesoji Adedeji as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State. According to a statement from the party, the development marks a major step in preparations for the election.

The APC said the presentation of the nomination form officially confirmed Alli’s candidacy ahead of the next governorship contest in the state. Party officials also announced Adedeji as the deputy governorship candidate, describing the ticket as a combination of experience and grassroots support.

According to the statement, Alli expressed appreciation to party leaders and supporters for their confidence in his candidacy. He reportedly pledged to work with stakeholders across the state and promised to present programmes that would address key challenges facing Oyo residents.

The race for the Oyo governorship seat is expected to attract strong competition as political parties gradually position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
