UMUAHIA, ABIA STATE — Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti, wife of Abia State Governor Alex Otti, has donated fully furnished apartments to 35 widows across the state. The housing support formed part of an initiative aimed at improving the welfare of vulnerable women, according to a statement from the Abia State Government.
The beneficiaries received apartments equipped with essential household furniture to enable them settle into their new homes immediately. Officials said the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to improving the living conditions of widows and other vulnerable groups through targeted social intervention programmes.
Speaking during the presentation, Mrs. Priscilla Chidinma Otti said the gesture was designed to restore hope and provide a safe living environment for widows facing economic hardship. She encouraged the beneficiaries to make good use of the opportunity while assuring them of continued support through other welfare programmes. According to the statement, the initiative aligns with the administration’s broader efforts to promote social inclusion and improve the quality of life for disadvantaged residents.
