LAGOS, NIGERIA — Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has revealed that he still plans to complete his education despite not finishing school. Speaking during a recent interview, the artiste said he studied Business Administration at Kwara Polytechnic and hopes to return to earn his qualification.
According to Portable, he sold sachet water while growing up because he did not have anyone to sponsor his education. He explained that although his father sent his siblings to school, he struggled academically at the time. The singer said his current success has enabled him to support his father and other members of his family financially.
Portable said his experience shows that success does not always follow a single path. He stated that people can build successful careers or businesses even if they do not complete their education immediately. He added that his goal is to return to school and finish the programme he started at Kwara Polytechnic.
