A woman’s reaction to Peter Obi’s recent interview has gained attention online. She rejected his claims of political intimidation and accused the former presidential candidate of seeking public sympathy.

ABUJA, NIGERIA — A woman has criticised Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, over remarks he made during a recent interview in which he alleged that he has faced political intimidation. In a video circulating on social media, she described several of Obi’s claims as “reckless” and questioned the basis of his allegations.

According to the woman, Obi’s claim that airport officials no longer greet him because of political pressure lacks evidence. She also disputed his account of being prevented from parking at a particular location, arguing that available information indicated he attempted to park in an area where parking was prohibited. She said public officials should comply with established rules regardless of their political status.

The woman also challenged Obi’s previous claim that authorities targeted his brother by demolishing a property in Lagos. According to her, the Lagos State Government had explained that the demolition affected several buildings erected on land that was not approved, not only a property linked to Obi’s family. She further alleged that Obi stopped discussing the issue after the government’s public explanation.

She went on to claim that opposition politicians often face political challenges and suggested that Obi’s repeated public comments about intimidation were intended to attract sympathy from Nigerians. In her view, such statements could influence public perception ahead of future political contests.

The development means the debate over Peter Obi’s claims of political intimidation continues to generate mixed reactions among Nigerians. While his supporters maintain that his concerns deserve attention, critics continue to question the evidence behind some of his allegations. As of the time of this report, Peter Obi has not responded to the woman’s comments, and there is no independent verification of the opinions she expressed.
