Sowore later described the court session as “a blockbuster” in a post on his verified social media account after proceedings ended. According to court updates shared by the defendant, his legal team began presenting evidence before the court.
During the proceedings, Sowore’s counsel, Deji Adeyanju, tendered an old video showing President Bola Tinubu speaking about public accountability. According to the defence, the video captured Tinubu urging Nigerians to criticise him if he failed to deliver on his responsibilities while in public office. The legal team presented the material as part of its defence before the court.
Reacting after the hearing, Sowore wrote on his verified social media page, “We opened our defence today. It was a blockbuster.” He also praised his legal team for its performance during the proceedings.
