ABUJA, FCT — RMK says his name has been uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, portal as the vice presidential candidate to Peter Obi on the platform of the National Democratic Congress, NDC. He made the announcement after receiving the party’s National Leader, Henry Seriake Dickson, at his residence in Abuja, according to a statement he shared on Monday.
RMK said he used the meeting to brief Dickson on what he described as productive political engagements and consultations across the North West states. According to him, the consultations produced encouraging outcomes as the party continues preparations for the next phase of its political activities. He added that the discussions focused on strengthening support and expanding the party’s reach across the region.
According to RMK, Dickson confirmed that the party had successfully submitted his candidacy and that his name had been uploaded to the INEC portal as Peter Obi’s running mate. “We remain steadfast, united, and fully focused on the mission ahead,” RMK said. He also described Dickson’s visit as an opportunity to reaffirm the party’s unity and commitment to its political objectives.
The National Democratic Congress has continued consultations with stakeholders in different parts of the country ahead of future electoral activities. Political parties often complete internal nomination processes and submit candidate details to INEC in line with electoral guidelines before campaigns begin.
