Social media personality Peller has responded to rapper Ycee after an online exchange over graduates and comments about selling akara in Nigeria.

IKEJA, LAGOSPeller has reacted to criticism from Nigerian rapper Ycee, saying he faced backlash when he proposed paying a graduate cameraman N1 million monthly. According to comments shared on social media, Peller said graduates were among his supporters and questioned the criticism directed at him.

Peller stated that he once suggested paying a graduate cameraman a monthly salary of N1 million but received heavy criticism online. He also referred to recent discussions surrounding comments that graduates should consider selling akara as a means of livelihood. According to his statement, he found the situation surprising after seeing the reactions online.

In his remarks, Peller said, “I proposed giving a graduate cameraman 1m naira monthly and I was dragged online.” He added that graduates were among those supporting Ycee’s music career and said he understood financial struggles because he left school due to a lack of money. He further stated that anyone selling akara to him must show a certificate before he buys from them.

The exchange follows a public disagreement between Peller and Ycee on social media. Reports indicate that Ycee had referred to Peller as “olodo,” a term commonly used to describe someone who lacks formal education.
