JUST IN: Delta State Governor’s aide Ossai Ovie Success has urged Nigerian graduates to embrace legitimate jobs regardless of how small they appear.

ASABA, DELTA STATE — Ossai Ovie Success, an aide to the Delta State Governor, has advised graduates and young Nigerians not to look down on small jobs and income opportunities. According to him, many people underestimate occupations that can generate substantial earnings despite appearing insignificant.

Ossai shared the example of a gateman in his estate, claiming the worker earns a monthly salary of N70,000 and also makes additional income by washing cars and doing laundry for residents. He said the combined earnings from these activities could amount to nearly N550,000 every month.

According to him, the experience shows that many people who appear to be struggling may actually earn more than expected through multiple sources of income. He encouraged Nigerians to pursue every legitimate opportunity available to improve their financial situation.

The governor’s aide also warned against allowing academic qualifications to create a sense of pride that prevents people from taking up certain jobs. He stressed that no legal means of making money should be considered too small or beneath anyone.

The comments have generated reactions on social media, with many users agreeing that side businesses and multiple income streams have become important in Nigeria’s challenging economic environment. Others said the remarks highlight the need for creativity and hard work among young people seeking financial stability.

The development means more Nigerians may continue to explore alternative sources of income beyond traditional employment. It also reflects the growing conversation about entrepreneurship, self-reliance and the importance of embracing legitimate opportunities regardless of social perceptions.
