ASABA, NIGERIA — Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has expressed dissatisfaction over the prolonged delay in completing the Irri Technical College project, directing the contractor handling the project to explain the slow pace of work.
The governor made his position known during an inspection of ongoing projects in the state, where he reviewed the level of work at the technical college in Irri, Isoko South Local Government Area. According to information released by the Delta State Government, the project was awarded several years ago but remains unfinished.
Governor Oborevwori said the delay was unacceptable and stressed that contractors engaged by the state government must deliver projects according to agreed timelines. He summoned the contractor responsible for the project and demanded an explanation for the prolonged delay, warning that the government would not tolerate poor performance on public contracts.
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to completing projects that improve education and infrastructure across Delta State. He said technical colleges play an important role in equipping young people with practical and vocational skills needed for employment and entrepreneurship.
