A lady has shared how she helped a rude keke passenger who lost her money after the pair had a heated disagreement during a trip.
IKEJA, LAGOS — A woman has narrated an encounter with a fellow passenger during a commercial tricycle ride in Lagos, saying she eventually paid the woman’s fare despite an earlier disagreement. According to her account shared on social media, the incident began after she paid for two seats for herself and her son.
The woman said another passenger, who was travelling with three children, asked her to move her son to create space for the children. She claimed the request came in a rude manner and that she declined because she had already paid for two seats.
According to the account, the passenger allegedly pushed her son to make room for the children, leading to a verbal exchange. The narrator said the woman later insulted her and criticised her appearance after accusing her of refusing to help another woman.
The situation took an unexpected turn when the passengers reached their destination. The woman with the children reportedly realised that her money was missing and later discovered she had accidentally thrown it away together with a corn stalk after eating during the trip.
The narrator said the tricycle rider insisted on collecting the fare and the woman appeared embarrassed by the situation. Despite the earlier disagreement, she decided to pay the woman’s transport fare for the sake of the children.
The story has generated reactions on social media, with many users praising the act of kindness and saying compassion should not depend on how people treat one another. Others said the incident serves as a reminder about patience, humility and the importance of treating others with respect.
The development means the story has become another example of how unexpected acts of kindness can change difficult situations and leave lasting impressions on those involved.
