LAGOS — Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, has alleged that former Borno State Governor Ali Modu Sheriff founded Boko Haram and challenged the former governor to institute legal proceedings if the claims are false. Falana made the remarks during a public engagement, according to reports and videos circulating online.
According to Falana, Sheriff was once arrested in Cameroon over alleged links to the insurgent group before the Nigerian government intervened and negotiated his release.
