A roadside sales trip turned tense for an egg roll seller after she met a group of young men she described as suspected internet fraudsters. Her account has since gained attention on social media.

NIGERIA — An egg roll seller has shared details of an encounter with a group of young men she described as suspected internet fraudsters while hawking her goods. The woman narrated the incident in a video that has circulated widely on social media, where she accused the group of behaving in a disrespectful manner.

According to the seller, she was moving around to sell her products when she walked past a group of young men sitting together. She alleged that the men were drinking alcohol and smoking while gathered in a circle. She further claimed that they called her over and asked how much all the items she was carrying would cost.

The woman said she attempted to calculate the value of the remaining goods because she had already sold part of them. She alleged that one of the young men then lifted her tray and jokingly asked how much both the goods and the seller herself would cost. According to her, the remark offended her, and she immediately challenged the statement, describing it as disrespectful. She said she refused to continue the transaction.

She added that another member of the group quickly intervened and reportedly instructed the individual to return her goods and allow her to leave. The seller explained that she dislikes verbal confrontations but believes it is necessary to respond firmly whenever anyone treats her without respect. She said the incident left her disturbed and highlighted the challenges some street traders face while carrying out their daily business.

The video has generated reactions across social media, with many users expressing sympathy for the seller and condemning any form of harassment or disrespect directed at traders. However, Extra News Nigeria has not independently verified the claims made in the viral video, and there has been no official statement from law enforcement authorities regarding the alleged incident or the identities of the young men involved.

The development means renewed attention may focus on the safety of street traders and hawkers across Nigeria. It also highlights growing public conversations about respectful conduct in public spaces and the need for authorities to address reports of harassment whenever credible complaints arise.
