JUST IN: Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has offered free housing and support services to vulnerable Nigerians returning from South Africa.
PORT HARCOURT, RIVERS STATE — Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere, founder of Omega Power Ministry (OPM), announced that Nigerians returning from South Africa who have no homes in Nigeria can move into free estates provided by the church. The cleric made the announcement in a statement shared on his social media platforms.
According to the statement, the church has set aside an estate specifically for returnees who do not have accommodation after arriving in Nigeria. He also said OPM has 18 other free estates for poor Nigerians who cannot afford house rent.
The cleric disclosed that the church purchased a bus marked “South African Returnees” to transport families from the airport to the estate. He said the returnees would first undergo documentation at the church before moving into the accommodation. He also informed the beneficiaries that feeding arrangements were still being finalised and asked them to cater for themselves temporarily.
“Everything is fully funded through tithes and offerings from OPM Church,” the statement reads. The cleric added that a new catering arrangement would begin once discussions with another food vendor are completed.
Apostle Chibuzor Chinyere has become known for several charity projects across Nigeria, including scholarship programmes, support for vulnerable families and housing initiatives for people facing hardship. His church has also provided assistance to displaced persons and Nigerians in need of emergency support.
The development means vulnerable Nigerians returning from South Africa now have access to temporary accommodation and transportation support at no cost. It also highlights the growing role of religious organisations in providing welfare services and humanitarian assistance to citizens facing difficult circumstances.
