LAGOS, NIGERIA — BLord, a Nigerian businessman and cryptocurrency entrepreneur, has claimed he narrowly escaped an alleged kidnap attempt after armed men reportedly intercepted his vehicle while he was taking his son to school.
The businessman shared the account on his social media platforms, alleging that the incident occurred when unidentified gunmen blocked his vehicle and opened fire at one of its tyres. According to BLord, he immediately switched his Mercedes-Benz GLE into Sport Mode and accelerated away from the scene.
In his account, BLord said the quick response of his vehicle and his decision to speed off helped him avoid the suspected attackers. He claimed the armed men had positioned their vehicle in a way that prevented him from moving freely before the situation turned violent.
“I put my GLE in Sport Mode and vanished,” he wrote while recounting the incident. He also alleged that one of the bullets struck a tyre on his vehicle, but he was able to continue driving to safety.
