Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere says more Nigerians returning from South Africa have arrived safely at the Omega Power Ministries (OPM) Free Estate in Rivers State.
PORT HARCOURT, RIVERS — Apostle Chibuzor Gift Chinyere, founder of Omega Power Ministries (OPM), has announced that another group of Nigerian returnees from South Africa has arrived safely at the church’s Free Estate in Rivers State. According to a statement shared by the cleric on social media, the group experienced travel difficulties before receiving assistance from the church.
According to Chinyere, the returnees were travelling by bus to Port Harcourt when the driver allegedly stopped in Aba, Abia State, and asked all passengers to disembark despite their tickets covering the full journey. He claimed the passengers appealed to the driver to continue the trip, but the driver allegedly left them behind. The cleric said the group remained stranded for several hours without transportation.
Chinyere stated that a passerby noticed the stranded travellers and contacted an OPM pastor after hearing about their situation. According to him, the church then arranged transportation by chartering a Chisco bus to convey the returnees from Aba to the OPM Free Estate in Port Harcourt. He added that the humanitarian intervention was funded through tithes and offerings received by the church. The OPM Free Estate has previously provided accommodation and welfare support to vulnerable Nigerians, including deportees, internally displaced persons and other individuals facing hardship.
