Former Imo governorship candidate Uche Nwosu has supported the Federal Government’s proposal to end the separation between JSS and SSS.
OWERRI, IMO STATE — Uche Nwosu, a former governorship candidate in Imo State, has endorsed the Federal Government’s move to merge the Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School structure into a unified secondary education system. He said the policy could help reduce the number of students who leave school before completing their education.
According to a statement by the former governorship candidate, many students fail to continue their education after completing Junior Secondary School because of financial and administrative challenges. He said a seamless transition from junior to senior secondary education would improve retention and encourage more children to remain in school.
Nwosu also noted that the proposed reform could simplify the education system and make access to secondary education easier for many families. He urged stakeholders in the education sector to support policies that improve learning opportunities and reduce barriers facing students across the country.
