According to reports, the incident happened on Sunday night as he was returning home from his childhood neighbourhood in Fadeyi. Union officials later confirmed his death after initial reports indicated he survived with injuries.

According to reports, unidentified gunmen intercepted Ajiboye’s vehicle around the Ikorodu Road axis and opened fire. Images shared after the incident showed the vehicle with multiple bullet marks on the windscreen and body. Authorities have not announced any arrests or disclosed the motive behind the attack.

“The news of the sudden passing of Comrade Toba Ajiboye has left me deeply saddened,” Adekunle said while extending condolences to the deceased’s family and members of the union.
