Bauchi State has received a N10 billion Federal Government intervention aimed at improving maternal and newborn healthcare services across the state.
BAUCHI, BAUCHI — The Federal Government has approved a N10 billion intervention for Bauchi State to strengthen maternal and newborn healthcare services. According to government officials, the funding will support efforts to improve access to quality healthcare for pregnant women, mothers and newborns while reducing maternal and infant mortality rates across the state.
Officials said the intervention will help upgrade healthcare facilities, improve the availability of essential medical equipment and supplies, and enhance the capacity of healthcare workers. According to the government, the programme also seeks to expand access to lifesaving maternal and child health services, particularly in underserved communities.
Government representatives explained that the investment forms part of broader national efforts to improve healthcare outcomes and accelerate progress toward reducing preventable maternal and newborn deaths. They said collaboration between the Federal Government, the Bauchi State Government and relevant health agencies will play a key role in ensuring the effective implementation of the intervention.
