Affairs Analyst Charles Oludare has announced his resignation from the APC and pledged to campaign against President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
LAGOS, NIGERIA — Charles Oludare, a Public Affairs Analyst, says he has resigned his membership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, citing alleged internal manipulations and rigging of the party’s election primaries. In a statement shared publicly, Oludare said he would no longer associate with the ruling party and plans to dedicate his time to campaigning against President Bola Tinubu in Lagos.
Oludare accused the APC leadership of undermining internal democracy and manipulating its primary election processes. According to him, the developments within the party no longer align with his principles and expectations of transparent political participation.
Announcing his decision, Charles Oludare said, “I have resigned my membership from the APC. I’m not going to be associated with this dirty party any longer.” He also declared that he would specifically campaign against President Tinubu in Lagos, claiming that the party’s leadership had failed to uphold fairness in its internal processes.
The APC has faced criticism from some members in recent years over the conduct of its primary elections and internal disputes in several states. However, the party leadership has consistently maintained that its processes comply with its constitution and electoral guidelines.
The development means the APC could face fresh internal scrutiny ahead of future political contests, particularly in Lagos, where President Tinubu maintains significant political influence. Oludare’s resignation also adds to ongoing conversations about party discipline, internal democracy and the management of grievances within Nigeria’s major political parties.
